Fedora Core 6 Default Wallpapers

I’ll soon be uninstalling Fedora Core 6 and upgrade it to Fedora 7, I’ll miss the wonderful DNA theme only to be welcomed by the new “Flying High” artwork.

I just wanted to backup/show people who missed the default Fedora Core 6 wallpaper.

Fedora 5 ATI Graphics Radeon support

If you're using Fedora 5, and unable to use ATI Graphics support, Here are the steps to install

  1. # rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm
  2. # yum install kmod-fglrx
  3. # setsebool -P allow_execmod=1
  4. Open /etc/inittab
    Change default init parameter to id:3:initdefault
  5. Reboot
    # ati-fglrx-config-display enable
  6. aticonfig –initial
  7. Change the default init parameter to 5 in /etc/inittab
  8. # reboot

Adding Microsoft fonts to Linux

Standard Microsoft fonts (ttf) can be added to Linux, and every web page, that you are accustomed to will look the same. The standard Microsoft fonts include

  • Arial
  • Verdana
  • Tahoma
  • Trebuchet MS
  • Georgia

Fedora 5 is out !!!

Many of the Fedora fans will be delighted that their new OS is out.

This new FC 5 boasts of a new Theme, which looks classy. And just look at the sexy default wallpaper.

One of the exciting feature is that it also has MONO installed.

For those who want this default wallpaper, here it is…
